Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Charlie O'Connor

Question:

401 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department's officials have been in touch with the management of Scoil Chaitlín Maude, the all-Irish primary school in Killinarden, regarding the future accommodation needs of the school; his Department's future plans in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1456/03]

Scoil Chaitlín Maude is one of three schools on the same campus that have applied to my Department for grantaid towards the provision of security measures, an extension to the car park and replacement windows. The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie.

On the basis of the budgetary allocation it was not possible to include this project in the new projects to start construction in 2003. The project will be considered again in the context of the 2004 capital programme.
