Question:413 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress which has been made to date by his Department in the provision of a new school at Curraghmore, Mullingar, County Westmeath. [1468/03]
Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.
The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website, www.education.ie. An application for improved accommodation has been received from the management authorities of Curraghmore national school, Mullingar, County Westmeath. My Department does not intend to put further large-scale projects into architectural planning during 2003. The project will be considered again in the context of the 2004 capital programme.

Question:414 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to the provision of an extension to a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if these works will be progressed without further undue delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1469/03]
The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website, www.education.ie. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the school in question has been included in the new pilot initiative to allow small schools undertake building and modernisation works on a devolved basis. My Department's building unit will be in contact with the school concerned as soon as possible.

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that a building project for Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn will proceed to construction in 2003. My Department's building unit will be in contact the school's management authorities as soon as possible.
