461 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation concerning the provision of a new community college at Castlepollard, County Westmeath to replace the existing Coláiste Cionn Torc. [1881/03]

476 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to the construction of a new school at Coláiste Cionn Torc, Castlepollard, County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1905/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 461 and 476 together.

The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on the Department's website at www.education.ie. The project relating to the provision of a new community college at Castlepollard will be authorised to proceed to construction during 2003.

462 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation concerning the provision of a new primary school at Coralstown, County Westmeath. [1882/03]

The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. The project at Coralstown national school, Mullingar, County Westmeath is at an early stage of architectural planning. On the basis of the budgetary allocation it was not possible to include it in the new projects to start construction in 2003. The project will be considered again in the context of the 2004 capital programme.

463 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the position concerning the proposed new school at Dysart national school, County Westmeath. [1883/03]

The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. The project at Dysart national school, Mullingar, County Westmeath is at an early stage of architectural planning. On the basis of the budgetary allocation it was not possible to include it in the new projects to start construction in 2003. The project will be considered again in the context of the 2004 capital programme.

McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will confirm that an application for additional classroom space had been made to his Department for Dalystown national school, County Westmeath; and if he will give the projected time scale for the commencement of works at this school. The project at Dalystown national school, County Westmeath, is at an advanced stage of architectural planning. On the basis of the budgetary allocation it was not possible to include it in the new projects to start construction in 2003. 465 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress which has been made in providing additional science laboratories and other facilities at Loreto College, Mul lingar; and if he will give a progress report on this application. [1885/03]

The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on the Department's website at www.education.ie. The project to which the Deputy refers is at an early stage of architectural planning, pre-planning permission. This project will not be authorised to progress beyond its current stage of architectural planning in the current year.

McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress that has been made regarding the proposed extension to Sonna national school, County Westmeath; if an application has been received; the stage the development is at; the estimated completion date for this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. An application for improved accommodation has been received from the management authorities of Sonna national school. However, my Department does not intend to put further large-scale projects into architectural planning during 2003. The project will be considered again in the context of the 2004 capital programme.

McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will confirm that an application for a resource room at Loughnavalley national school, County Westmeath has been approved; the date of this approval, if he will outline the estimated cost of this project; when a financial allocation will be approved for this project to enable works to start; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1887/03]

The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that Loughnavalley national school, County Westmeath, has been included in a new pilot initiative to allow small schools to undertake building and modernisation works on a devolved basis. My Department's building unit will be in contact with the management authorities of the school as soon as possible.

The project at Clonmellon national school, County Westmeath, is at an early stage of architectural planning. On the basis of the budgetary allocation it was not possible to include it in the new projects to start construction in 2003. 471 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application has been received from St. Finian's College, Mullingar, County Westmeath for funding for redevelopment; the stage the development is at; and the estimated completion date for this project. [1891/03]

An application for capital funding has been received from the school management authorities of St. Finian's College, Mullingar. This project is at a pre-architectural planning stage in the planning and building unit of my Department.
