John Deasy

Question:

564 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if any part of the Colligan river is State owned; if he is prepared to formally lease this area to the Colligan District Angling and Conservation Club; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2012/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 563 and 564 together.

Primary responsibility for the management, protection, conservation and development of fisheries in the southern fisheries region, including the River Colligan, rests with the Southern Regional Fisheries Board.

I have forwarded the Deputy's queries to the chief executive of the board and asked him to reply directly to the Deputy in the matter.
