Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

578 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the regulations regarding the sports capital programme to ensure access for the disabled; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27181/02]

Under the national lottery funded sports capital programme, which is administered by my Department, funding is allocated to sporting and community organisations at local, regional and national level throughout the country. Construction projects funded under the programme must comply with both the Building Regulations, 1991, as enforced, and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Construction Regulations, 1995. Part M of the Building Regulations, 1991, sets out in detail the facilities which must be provided for disabled people.
