Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - General Medical Services Scheme.

Richard Bruton

Question:

591 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if dressings are provided free to medical card holders; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27045/02]

Dressings included on the list of reimbursable (non-drug) items in the General Medical Service scheme are made available to medical card holders free of charge.

The provision of dressings not included on this list is a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board to decide, taking into account the individual circumstances of each case.
