Question:

638 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the long waiting lists for hip replacement operations in the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Cappagh, Dublin 11; and when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 is likely to have an operation. [1207/03]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of counties Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

639 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be called for a heart bypass operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1254/03]

Responsibility for the provision of health services to persons residing in County Sligo rests with the North Western Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
