Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

John McGuinness

Question:

662 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the speech therapy services which are available in the north east Kilkenny area; if the South-Eastern Health Board will liaise with the DISC organisation in this area to determine its needs as a representative group dealing with disability issues and supporting carers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1328/03]

The provision of services to persons with disabilities, including speech and language therapy, in the south east Kilkenny area is in the first instance the responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to reply directly to the Deputy in relation to the matter raised.
