Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Grants.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

878 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his Department will approve a grant for Kerry County Council to replace the existing boundary fence, at the rear of the houses in Doon Road, Ballybunion, County Kerry, with a boundary wall; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1053/03]

My Department has already made a grant of €9,500 available to Kerry County Council for the provision of a rear boundary wall at this location. The original amount sought by Kerry County Council was €15,000 which was regarded by the Department's inspector as excessive and the grant allocated is considered to be adequate for the purpose.
