Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

183 Mr. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if a work permit will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1305/03]

I understand there is no record of an outstanding application for a work permit for the individual concerned in the Department.

John McGuinness

Question:

184 Mr. McGuinness asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if an application will be expedited for a work permit from a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and the time frame for the process. [1433/03]

An application in this case was received in early January 2003. It is the policy to process work permit applications in the order in which they are received. Assuming the application is completed correctly and is otherwise in order, it will take approximately six weeks to process.
