Vol. 560 No. 3

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Gerard Murphy

Question:

247 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Education and Science if extra funding to Cabas School, Blackrock, Cork city, will be granted in order that it will be in a position to create the much required extra spaces for children with special needs. [2666/03]

The facility to which the Deputy refers was established in 1999 for a five year pilot period. It is currently funded by my Department to cater for up to 30 children with autism.

At present there are no proposals to expand this facility beyond its current capacity.
