Vol. 560 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Enda Kenny

Question:

260 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the provision for a general practitioner room and ancillary facilities for Shrule national school, County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2335/03]

The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. On the basis of the budgetary allocation it was not possible to include any further projects in 2003. The budgetary allocation for 2004 and subsequent years will determine the rate of progress on projects that could not be included in this year's programme.

Mary Wallace

Question:

261 Ms M. Wallace asked the Minister for Education and Science the breakdown in the 2003 primary school building programme allocation, including the amount committed to 2002 projects; the amount allocated to minor works; the amount allocated for temporary accommodation; the amount allocated for large scale building; the amount allocated for small projects; the amount allocated for site purchase; the breakdown of this budget, including the contingency amount; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2341/03]

Mary Wallace

Question:

262 Ms M. Wallace asked the Minister for Education and Science the extent of the 2003 primary building allocation that is committed to existing projects as distinct from new projects; the way in which this will be allocated for the 2004 budget; if the allocation will remain as it is today; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2342/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 261 and 262 together.

Section 1 of the 2003 primary school building programme contains a cost summary for the programme and details are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

263 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the building project for Bridgetown Vocational College, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2433/03]

The 2003 capital programme has been published and full details in relation to projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. The project at Bridgetown Vocational College is at an advanced stage of architectural planning, pre-tender stage. The timing of when this project can progress to tender and construction is dependent on the funding allocation in 2004 and subsequent years.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

264 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has received a stage two report regarding a proposed scheme of refurbishment works at Loreto secondary school, Spawell Road, Wexford; if so, when a response to this report will be given; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2434/03]

The 2003 capital programme has been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. The proposed extension at Loreto secondary school is at an early stage of architectural planning, pre-planning permission. Due to budgetary constraints this project will not be authorised to progress beyond its current stage during this year.
