Vol. 560 No. 3

Written Answers. - General Medical Services Scheme.

Jack Wall

Question:

310 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children when a GMS doctor will be appointed for Ballymore Eustace in view of the fact that there has been no GMS doctor in Ballymore Eustace for several months and this situation is placing huge hardship on the people of the area. [2436/03]

Responsibility for the provision of services to medical card holders is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board or authority. Accordingly, my Department has referred the issue raised to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority for investigation and direct reply to the Deputy.
