423 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of persons who have been rehoused by Kildare County Council and other local authorities in County Kildare in the past 12 months; the extent to which new applicants have joined the housing list; when he expects the waiting list to improve; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2697/03]
Detailed information on the extent to which the housing needs of Kildare households on the waiting list were met in 2002 is not yet available to my Department. Such information, when received, will be published in the near future in my Department's annual bulletin of housing statistics.
Information on the number of households assessed as being in need of housing at 28 March 2002 in respect of all local authorities, was published in the September quarterly bulletin of housing statistics, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. Information on the number of new applicants in Kildare, subsequent to that date, is not at present available in my Department.
