Question:

184 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will allow time spent by carers in looking after those that require caring to be recognised for the purposes of being eligible to take part in community employment schemes; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2293/03]

Persons, aged 25 or older who were previously in receipt of the carer's allowance for a minimum of 12 months are eligible to apply for a place on the community employment programme, CE. Such persons must have ceased their caring duties when commencing on CE.
