Vol. 560 No. 4

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

John Bruton

Question:

217 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason he has failed to respond to representations on behalf of a person regarding problems with receiving payment from the contractor who built a community school (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2938/03]

Officials in my Department have no record of the representations to which the Deputy refers. However, the position with regard to the payment of moneys to contractors for a community school is that all moneys are paid to the main contractor who is responsible for paying the subcontractors. In the event of the Deputy wishing to pursue the matter with the main contractor for the school in question, the details are as follows: Purcell Construction, 4 Caiseal Eala, Spanish Parade, Galway.
