287 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the situation of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 2 who, as outlined to him in a letter of 18 December 2002, has been a victim of circumstances in which a report was submitted, the explanation of which only came to light under a FOI request; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey):

The person referred to by the Deputy is an employee of the school authority and it is a matter for the school authority to renominate him for incremental salary grant when he is considered fit to resume his teaching duties. The matters at issue in this instance are for settlement between the teacher and the school authority and it would be inappropriate for me to interfere.
