Vol. 561 No. 1

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Charlie O'Connor

Question:

322 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will intervene in the crisis regarding speech and language classes in Ard Mhuire national school and St. Mark's national school, Tallaght, Dublin 24; if his attention has been drawn to the distress of parents in the matter; if he will meet a delegation from the schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3177/03]

The provision of health related services, including speech and language therapy, is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the deputy chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
