462 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reasons a case involving the alleged sexual abuse of 30 young persons (details supplied) has been delayed so often; when these persons are likely to have the case dealt with; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3366/03]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. McDowell):

I am informed by the Garda authorities that this case stands adjourned to Dundalk Circuit Court on 16 June. The adjournment arises from a a number of constitutional issues raised by the defence which are scheduled for submission to the Supreme Court on 19 March.
