Vol. 561 No. 1

Written Answers. - Residency Applications.

Michael Ring

Question:

465 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if an application for permission to remain, based on parentage of an Irish born child, can be renewed for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and the position regarding same. [3381/03]

An application for permission to remain in the State based on parentage of an Irish born child has been received from the person concerned. Permission to remain on the basis of the application has not been granted to date and therefore renewal of such permission does not arise.

Applications of the type referred to by the Deputy are not currently being processed until such time as the implications of the Supreme Court Decision of 23 January have been fully considered.
