Vol. 561 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Paddy McHugh

Question:

160 Mr. McHugh asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will report on the outcome of his consideration of the submission received from the Western Health Board on 8 October 2002 in relation to the Tuam Hospital and ancillary facilities on the Tuam health campus; the timescale for putting in place the ambul ance base and the hospital; the financial provisions he is making to ensure that the project proceeds without delay; if he will accede to the request from the Western Health Board for a meeting to discuss the submission; when that meeting will take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3170/03]

The Western Health Board's submission of October last, on the Tuam project, is still being considered in the context of the national development plan funding available to my Department and the board. However, it may be some time before a definitive conclusion on this project is reached.
