259 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on whether his Department has failed to achieve the 3% target for the employment of disabled persons; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3809/03]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin)

At present the percentage of staff with a disability employed in the Department is 2.5%. The Department has always accepted any officer with a disability who has been assigned to it.
