Vol. 561 No. 2

Written Answers. - Western Development Commission.

Liz McManus

Question:

163 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the progress made to date with regard to the review of the Western Development Commission being undertaken by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3682/03]

As I have stated previously, the purpose of the review is to identify and address any unnecessary duplication between State agencies operating in the western region, thus ensuring value for money of all public expenditure on promoting development in that region. The review is continuing and in this context I am consulting my colleagues as appropriate, so as to ensure any emerging proposals will provide the greatest positive impact for development in the region.

Question No. 164 answered with Question No. 105.
