In so far as disadvantaged areas compensatory allowance, livestock premia and arable aid payments are concerned the statistics requested by the Deputy are not readily available. Farmers may be in receipt of one or more payments under the various schemes. However, a good indication of the number of farmers in receipt of EU subsidies per county is the number of area aid applications per county. In general each farmer must submit an area aid application each year. The number of area aid applications per county received in 2002 is set out in the following table:
