Vol. 561 No. 5

Written Answers. - Recycling Facilities.

Paul Kehoe

Question:

261 Mr. Kehoe asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his plans to invest money into recycling in County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4969/03]

In November 2002, I announced a first round of capital grant allocations in respect of local authority recycling infrastructure projects. A total of €0.27 million was allocated in respect of recycling facilities in County Wexford. In response to a request by my Department, Wexford County Council recently submitted supplementary information in support of grant applications in respect of proposed recycling facilities at Enniscorthy, New Ross, Rosbercon and Wexford. These applications are under active consideration in light of this information. I expect to be in a position to announce further grant allocations over the course of this year.
