Question:

389 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of caesarean sections carried out in each of the health board areas in 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2001 and 2002; and the births delivered by that method in percentage terms. [5481/03]

The following table provides the number of caesarean sections in public maternity hospitals and units by health board-regional authority for the years 1986, 1990, 1995 and 2000. Data for 1985, 2001 and 2002 are not available.
