Vol. 562 No. 2

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

Jack Wall

Question:

171 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding a board of management's request for funding to provide facilities for its school (details supplied) in County Kildare, in view of the fact that the school is not listed on his Department's website and despite its application being included in recent Department announcements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5853/03]

The 2003 schools building programme has been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie.

I presume the Deputy is referring to Newbridge national school (Roll No. 13328) which is listed in section 7, which refers to primary schools, of the building programme. Projects listed in section 7 are at an early stage of architectural planning and will not be authorised to progress beyond this stage for the time being. The budgetary allocation for 2004 and subsequent years will determine the rate of progress on projects that could not be included in this year's programme.
