101 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Finance when persons (details supplied) in County Kildare will receive their P21 form, in view of the fact that they are awaiting same to provide the information to a local authority in regard to higher education grants; the possibility of an early decision in relation to this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that what is required in this case is a notice of assessment and that the issue of this notice was delayed because of the late submission of the taxpayers' tax return for the 2001 short tax year. The due date for making the return was 31 October 2002 but the return was only received in Revenue on 12 February 2003.
The taxpayers' return was processed on 24 February 2003 and the notice of assessment will issue on 27 February 2003.
