Vol. 562 No. 3

Written Answers - Autism Services.

John Bruton

Question:

175 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children if funds will be allocated to St. Michael's Unit, Trim, County Meath for the continuing care for autistic children who attend there, as funding will be removed in March 2003, to provide for speech therapy, occupational therapy and psychological assistance; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5944/03]

Responsibility for the funding of services in the Meath region lies with the North Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter and to reply directly to the Deputy.
