Vol. 562 No. 3

Written Answers - Enterprise Development.

Finian McGrath

Question:

91 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will use the maximum resources, advice and assistance in order to assist a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 who has a new idea to develop the music industry. [5943/03]

It is not possible to say, on the basis of the information supplied, if this is a matter for my Department. If the proposal involves the setting up of a business or enterprise, then my Department through its agencies, Enterprise Ireland and the Dublin City Enterprise Board may have a role to play. If the idea to develop the music industry involves an increased role for the State in supporting the industry then it would be more appropriate to consult my colleague the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism or the interim music board of Ireland which has been charged with responsibility for preparing a development plan for the music industry.
