Vol. 562 No. 3

Written Answers - FÁS Training Programmes.

John McGuinness

Question:

93 Mr. McGuinness asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the reasons the full FÁS payment rate of ?540.00 per week is not being paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is completing a sixth phase carpentry course at Sligo IT; and if the situation will be rectified as soon as possible, in view of the fact that the course started on 13 January 2003. [6029/03]

Determination of the appropriate allowance for individual apprentices is the day-to-day responsibility of FÁS which has statutory responsibility for administering apprenticeship. I have arranged for the Director General of FÁS to clarify for the Deputy the position as regards the individual case raised in this question.
