An Leas-Cheann Comhairle

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Costello – the current proposals for the relocation-decentralisation of the Central Fisheries Board; (2) Deputy Connaughton – the circumstances of the recent reported loss by the IDA of over 1,000 jobs to Ballinasloe, County Galway; (3) Deputy Finian McGrath – the severe funding crisis at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin; (4) Deputy Stagg – the failure of the Government to provide funding for the Sallins national school project or to provide funding for temporary accommodation; (5) Deputy Brendan Smith – the need to retain a standard cost for the installation of telephone service regardless of location; (6) Deputy O'Sullivan – the dilapidated state of St. Kieran's boys national school, Galvone, Limerick and the need to provide adequate funding to carry out repairs; (7) Deputy Kelly – the need to reverse the decision to close St. Joseph's secondary school in Newtownforbes, County Longford last week; (8) Deputy Morgan – to ask the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to comment on the decision by An Bord Pleanála to grant planning permission to Indaver Ireland to build an incinerator at Carranstown, Duleek, County Meath; (9) Deputy Seán Ryan – the difficulty in operating Part V of the Planning and Development Act 2000 arising from circulars issued by the Department of the Environment and Local Government in respect of income limit for eligibility for local authority loans, loan limits of €130,000 and the reluctance of the commercial lending institutions to accept the required clawback provisions of the scheme which have all resulted in eligible applicants under the scheme being unable to secure a loan; and (10) Deputy Hogan – to ask the Minister to reverse the decision to impose major increases in charges for small businesses in respect of license fees for directional signage arising from the Planning and Development Act 2002.

The matters raised by Deputies Connaughton, Stagg, Kelly and Costello have been selected for discussion.
