Vol. 562 No. 4

Written Answers - Departmental Properties.

Seán Crowe

Question:

244 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Education and Science if South Dublin County Council has been in correspondence with his Department requesting the construction of a footpath along the lands owned by his Department in Kingswood; and if his Department will examine this request in view of the obvious danger to pedestrians in the area. [6223/03]

Richard Bruton

Question:

257 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will agree to the request from South Dublin County Council that a small parcel of land be provided by his Department on the lands at a location (details supplied) in order that the local authority in question can build a much needed footpath in this locality and thereby dramatically improve pedestrian safety in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6330/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 244 and 257 together.

South Dublin County Council has not made an application to my Department to provide land for the construction of a footpath along the property in question. If such an application is received the matter will be considered and a decision conveyed directly to South Dublin County Council.
