252 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science the action he intends to take to address the low pay of part-time teachers relative to their full-time colleagues; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6288/03]
Discussions are taking place at the Conciliation Council for Teachers with teacher union representatives and the managerial authorities of primary and post primary schools with regard to the implementation of the terms of the part-time Act. The terms of any agreement reached with regard to improvements in pay and conditions of service will be issued to the managerial authorities of schools. Any terms agreed will be retrospective to the 20 December 2001.
