Written Answers - Sports Capital Programme.

Charlie O'Connor

Question:

300 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if he has continued to liaise with South Dublin County Council in respect of the Jobstown all-weather pitch, Tallaght, Dublin 24; if his attention has been drawn to the special needs of this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6084/03]

A grant of €152,369 was provisionally allocated towards the provision of an all-weather pitch at Jobstown under the 2000 sports capital programme administered by my Department. I understand the work in relation to the all-weather pitch is now complete and I confirm that the sports unit of my Department is in regular contact with South Dublin County Council with a view to its meeting the conditions required in facilitating the payment of the grant, particularly in relation to legal requirements and the certification of payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

301 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism when a national lottery grant will be awarded to Killererin GAA Club, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6216/03]

A grant of €40,000 was provisionally allocated to the club in question under the 2002 sports capital programme administered by my Department. The grant was allocated towards the upgrading of pitches and dressing rooms and the installation of floodlights. To date, some of the documentation necessary for formal confirmation of the grant has been submitted but further documentation is still required and a letter giving details of the further information required has been sent to the club by the sports division of my Department. On receipt of the necessary documentation the matter will be dealt with by the Department.
