Vol. 562 No. 4

Written Answers - Medical Cards.

John McGuinness

Question:

342 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if an appeal for a medical card in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny based on the medical circumstances of the person can be expedited. [6447/03]

Responsibility for the provision of a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board or authority. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
