Vol. 562 No. 4

Written Answers - Garda Operations.

Pat Breen

Question:

403 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of gardaí available for security purposes at Shannon Airport; the guidelines which have been issued to the Garda carrying out this duty; if a protocol has been drawn up governing their relationship with the Army; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6458/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that security arrangements at Shannon Airport are under continuous review in the light of developing circumstances. I consider it inappropriate to comment further on specific security arrangements as to do so may compromise the measures taken by the Garda authorities.
