Vol. 562 No. 4

Written Answers - Decentralisation Programme.

Phil Hogan

Question:

204 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance the criteria he advocates for a programme of decentralisation; if he has a preference for locations other than designated gateway or hub centres identified under the national spatial strategy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6197/03]

The Government is committed to moving forward the progressive decentralisation of Government offices and agencies. As I have said on previous occasions, the preparation of a new programme of decentralisation will be based on the consideration of a wide range of issues as well as taking account of the national spatial strategy. These deliberations will, in due course, inform the Government's decision on this issue.
