I propose to take Questions Nos. 259 and 260 together.
The information requested by the Deputy is not readily available as correspondence with board members is often through their business address rather than their home address.
In selecting persons to act on boards, appointments are not made on the basis of geographical location. The appointees to State boards carry out an important function and are chosen on the basis of the qualities and attributes which I believe are required to discharge this function.
I refer the Deputy to Question No. 159 of 26 February 2003 which sets out the current membership of State boards under the aegis of my Department. I have forwarded a copy of this question to the Deputy.
