It is expected that the 2003 forestry premium will be paid to the person in question before the end of the month.

Question:378 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the reason an application for the forestry grant in respect of 11 hectares of farm forestry has not been approved for a person (details supplied) in County Galway; if such an approval will issue in 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application for grant aid for the person in question is currently being processed by the forest service. All approvals for afforestation grant aid have to date issued in line with current available funding. It is possible that all applicants will not proceed with planting in respect of the approvals issued. In such circumstances further approvals will issue and the applicant in question may be included. Applications for afforestation are being processed in strict chronological order.
