Vol. 563 No. 1

Written Answers - National Stadium.

Bernard Allen

Question:

379 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if he will itemise all expenditure to date on the proposed development of a national stadium and other facilities at Abbotstown, County Dublin. [6959/03]

From 2000 to date, €80 million has been spent by the Exchequer in connection with the provision of sporting facilities at Abbotstown. Of this amount, a sum of €68 million relates directly to the construction of the National Aquatic Centre, which was launched by the Taoiseach yesterday and €8.9 million relates to administrative and ongoing running costs of CSID, including executive services, project management, consultancy costs and VAT payments, most of which is related to the National Aquatic Centre. The balance of €3.1 million relates to planning, site survey work and general preparation and development of the entire campus site. Itemised details of this expenditure is a matter for Campus and Stadium Ireland Development Limited, CSID.
