Vol. 563 No. 1

Written Answers - Nursing Home Subventions.

Bernard Allen

Question:

389 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children why there is such a long delay in making a decision on an application for an enhanced nursing home subvention by a person (details supplied) in County Cork, despite the fact that the nursing home has indicated that it cannot keep this person indefinitely due to the huge gap between the subvention being paid and the new rate of ?620 per week being charged by the nursing home. [6898/03]

As responsibility for the administration of the nursing home subvention scheme in Cork rests with the Southern Health Board, my Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
