Vol. 563 No. 1

Written Answers - Driving Tests.

Denis Naughten

Question:

455 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Transport the reason a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon, who applied for the driver theory test and who failed to provide photo identification when presented for the test, was not offered a retest without the payment of a further fee; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6910/03]

Theory test appointments are arranged by the driver theory testing service and not by my Department. The test appointment notice issued by the service refers to the acceptable proof of identity to be produced at the appointment.

The driver theory testing service has procedures in place for dealing with complaints, including any in relation to acceptable proof of identity, which may be addressed to the Customer Service Manager at P.O. Box 144, Drogheda, County Louth. The granting of further tests without payment of fees would be a matter for determination by the driver theory testing service as part of the complaints consideration process.
Question No. 456 answered with Question No. 137.
