Vol. 563 No. 1

Written Answers - Planning Regulations.

Joe Costello

Question:

487 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the fact that it is illegal to erect razor wire without planning permission; if his Department or the Garda have obtained planning permission from Clare County Council for surrounding Shannon Airport with such dangerous wire; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6955/03]

The Garda has been informed by the airport authorities that the erection of the razor wire at Shannon Airport is exempt from the provisions of the planning regulations under class 32 of schedule 2 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001.
