Vol. 563 No. 4

Written Answers - Planning Regulations.

Phil Hogan

Question:

589 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will reverse his decision to increase the charge for finger signage by over 200%; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7710/03]

A fee of €50 for the erection of a fingerpost direction sign, to indicate tourist accommodation, which is erected on or along a public road was prescribed in the Planning and Development (No. 2) Regulations 2002. This compares with a fee of £20 which was set in the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations 1994. I have no proposal to amend the regulations.
