The purpose of the 3% target for the employment of people with disabilities in the public service is to ensure that individuals with special requirements are afforded every opportunity to participate fully in the workforce. My Department ensures that it meets its responsibilities in this regard.
Individuals are appointed to State boards on the basis of their knowledge or expertise in an area relevant to the work of the board or to represent a particular sector or interest. Accordingly, it is not the practice to retain records of the nature requested by the Deputy.
