Vol. 563 No. 4

Written Answers - Departmental Funding.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

175 Mr. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she has received requests from FÁS for increased funding; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8365/03]

The FÁS budget for 2003 was decided in the context of the Estimates process, which concluded with the publication of the Revised Estimates Volume 2003 in early March 2003. The FÁS allocation for the year is €814,221,000 million comprising €592,166,000 from the Exchequer and €222,055,000 million from the national training fund.

Following the publication of the Abridged Estimates and the introduction of the budget, FÁS was advised in December 2002 that it must keep within the approved allocation and that no additional funding will be made available in 2003. No requests have been received from FÁS for additional funding.

Question No. 176 answered with Question No. 125.
