Vol. 563 No. 5

Written Answers - Departmental Expenditure.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

123 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the total moneys at his disposal in 2003 for the promotion of areas of responsibility within the ambit of his Department; the expenditure to date; his plans for the remainder of 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8351/03]

The provision for the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs in 2003, as published in the Revised Estimates Volume, is €266.941 million. The gross amount provided is €282.061 million, with receipts projected to total €15.12 million, giving the net amount of €266.941 million. Expenditure by my Department up to 20 March 2003 was €37.69 million. The expenditure provisions for the Department are divided between three main programme areas, an Ghaeilge agus an Ghaeltacht, community affairs and rural affairs, with the balance being earmarked to cover administrative costs. It is anticipated that expenditure across the Department for the year will be in line with the amount provided.
