Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

199 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to severe staff and resource difficulties at the maternity unit in a hospital (details supplied) in County Kerry; if he will take steps to alleviate these difficulties and engage with hospital staff and management to discuss this situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8444/03]

The provision of services at Tralee General Hospital is a matter for the Southern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to her directly.
