Question:

54 Mr. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the procedure for renewal of a work permit in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8593/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 53 and 54 together.

There is no record of a valid renewal application having been received in my Department on behalf of the individual concerned. Applications from employers for the renewal of work permits should be submitted, along with the appropriate documentation and work permit fee, up to six weeks before the expiration of the current work permit.

Full details for making work permit applications, including copies of application forms, are available on my Department's website at www.entemp.ie or from the work permit call centre at 1890201616.
